Tucson, Arizona has lifted our winter spirits, offering trails that have elevated Sue and me to highs normally found during more hospitable seasons. The west section of Saguaro National Park was our destination on a warm, mostly sunny day for 6.6 miles and 1,300 feet of ascent. It was rated hard, but our eyes must have told our hearts it was easy. We combined three trails—Hugh Norris, Dobe Wash, and Bajada Wash—to make a loop.

it was a spectacular evening yesterday after a day of rain — snow on the mountains and dramatic clouds while walking in Saguaro National Park East. Despite the low temperature, it was a wonderful time to be back in my old stomping grounds,
