Newfoundland, alas. We had heard so much. Canada’s most rugged, beautiful, and remote province. Friendliest people. Newbies must be Screeched.
In Gros Morne National Park, we walked to Bakers Brook Falls, a place so wild I felt like I was in the Yukon. The boardwalks over marshes made it feel somewhat civilized, though. But the trail offered mud that almost inherited my shoe and more.
A wide, three-mile path led to a fjord, where we were packed like sardines (maybe a slight exaggeration) on an old, small boat for a two-hour cruise to the end. The views were worth it, for sure.
There’s still another national park to go. And we have not experienced Screech. Yet.
